Together we can make a difference

Muslim Women in Ireland face huge barriers to accessing the services they need when they are in crisis. Amal works to address this by supporting women in culturally appropriate ways to access the help they need, while educating service providers, so that they can have better lives for themselves and their community.

Our Vision

We work toward an Ireland where all women, particularly Muslim women, can access the services they need and fully participate in society, free from the threat of violence, from poverty, racism, discrimination and stigma.

I liked the method very much, they simplify everything by giving examples & engaging each one of us. Each one had his own time to speak & comment, we also had the time to practice & digest what you explained each class by role plays & practical work which makes it very easy to remember the content of each class with almost no effort done by us.

The first few days were really helpful for me as a person and a woman. I’m not sure exactly what happened over those few days but it actually helped me believe in myself and my abilities. I felt great! And whilst I knew that I was an outsider (in as far as I am a not a Muslim women) I didn’t feel like that at all.

I really enjoyed this course. I was amazed at the amount of topics we covered over such a short time and how we got to engage with service providers. I thought it was a great idea to invite service providers to the course especially for people who are new to this area of work. It helped us increase our network of contacts, and improved Amals’ visibility in the community.
