In the year 2017, Amal group was able to make a good relationship and engagement with families in three direct provision centers: Co Meath, Co Kildareand Abbeyfield Hotel in Ballaghaderreen. We meet with the refugee families there to give them the Ramadan food packs, Qurbani meat and Eid gift for Eid Fitr and Eid Adha.
In the run-up to the fasting month of Ramadan, which falls in the middle of May this year (with the longest amount of daylight), Amal group would like to fund-raise to help the Refugee families during their transition in the Direct provision center. We aim to produce at least 500 Ramadan packs to cover 500 families and deliver it by the end of April.
We are appealing to local businesses and personal donors for support. If you are in any position to support us please do, no contribution is too small. It will be greatly appreciated to help raise, collect and pack* these Ramadan food packs starting from now.
For the donation of dry tin food, mainly Arabic tin or dry food: like foal, humus, dates, honey, figs or tahini, you can drop them to our office in Dublin mosque.
You can also donate cash (for us to buy the food and pack it for each family).
